Your contact lens journey starts here
Your journey starts with a contact lens examination. We take detailed measurements of your eye shape and assess your tear film quality to make sure you get the most comfortable fit. We’ll also talk through your lifestyle and visual needs so we can recommend the best lenses for you.
What to expect at your appointment
Your initial fitting appointment takes around 60 minutes and we will:
- Discuss your lifestyle and visual needs to recommend the best type of lenses for you
- Take precise eye measurements using advanced technology
- Check the front of your eye to ensure it’s healthy and suitable for contact lens wear
- Insert a trial lens into your eye as a starting point. Usually these will have been ordered in advance based on information provided from your eye examination. In exception circumstances we will have to order or re-order them after this initial fitting appointment
- Assessment of the contact lens fit and vision
- One-to-One teaching of insertion and removal techniques
- Professional tips for lens care and hygiene
- As much in practice time as necessary until you feel confident handling your lenses

Aftercare
At your lens aftercare appointment, we’ll check how you’ve got on with your lenses and offer you the option to trial different lenses if desired.
We recommend aftercare appointments every 6-12 months to make sure your eyes stay healthy and your lenses continue to provide optimal vision. These check-ups allow us to monitor your eye health and make any necessary adjustments to your prescription or lens type.

Daily Wear Lenses
- Daily Disposables – perfect for occasional wear or those who prefer maximum convenience, comfort and health benefits
- Monthly Lenses – a cost-effective option for full-time wearers
- Multifocal Lenses that provide clear vision at all distances
Specialist and Custom Lenses
- Bespoke Complex Soft Lenses, which are designed to fit the unique size and shape of your eye
- Bespoke Complex Hard Lenses – for example, scleral lenses, semi scleral lenses and rigid gas permeable lenses. We also have many patients who enjoy the freedom of orthokeratology (Night Lenses) lenses which gently reshape the cornea overnight to correct your vision in the day
Medical & Therapeutic Lenses
- Myopia Control Lenses – such as MiSight, Mylo, and NaturalVue to help slow myopia progression in children and teens. These slow down the rate of progression of myopia in their growing years and ultimately aim to reduce their overall prescription in adulthood. This has many health benefits in later years
- Lenses for keratoconus, post corneal graft, dry eye, other corneal abnormalities and complex prescriptions
- Pre- RLE (Refractive lens exchange trialling of prescription)- to simulate intraocular lenses before cataract or lens replacement surgery
